Just a little note about WaMu/Chase. I redeemed a $98K CD on 8/27/09, and as of 9/10/09 I still hadn’t received the check. I called Chase, and they said because of the large amount, they sat on it for over a week before cutting the check! OVER A WEEK OF LOST INTEREST ON $98,000!!! I redeemed the CD when they tried to renew it at 0.2% when other banks are offering 2.0%…

Don’t know about there bak accounts, but if there loan programs are full of hidden fees, there bak accounts are probably too. Stay away from them unless you are a subprime barrower. They rack you up with fees that are not on your loan agreement hopeing that you will not fight you in court over them. Write now I am fighting with them over $200 in loan closeing fees that there are chargeing me to “pay off my loan”, which are not in my loan agreement. I am sure they are doing this to everybody. The FBI needs to investigate them for fraud.

I’ve had 3 online CD’s from wamu so far, never had any problems, and unline Lohoefener who probably doesn’t know how to use a computer, all my receipts had the full account number. Stick to savings bonds you techno weenie.

Beware online cd buying with this bank… i transfered a large amount of money into a cd account at 5% rate for 12 months. i printed all transaction pages from wamu. none of the pages included a FULL account #. or ROUTING #. My external bank withdrew the funds when i failed to supply a full account number and routing number.calls to custmer service did not resolve the problem. they refused to MAIL,or give me my account number, EVEN AFTER GIVING THEM MY SOCIAL OVER THE PHONE!!! I will never do buisness with them again, unprofessional and will report them to the bank regulators.

WaMu’s customer service practices are not acceptable to me, they were misleading to me and ended up not funding a cd.
I will not do business with them again. I’ll stick with other institutions.
