Did anyone realized this is site is assessable from Mexico, Spain, or any country in South America. This is part of the internet. You don’t have to live in America to use it and you don’t have to speak English to use it. If some ones native language bothers you. LEARN IT.

It’s about time the So called, “American Public” realize that being able to speak in more than one language offers a treasure of opportunities. Not only for travel but for job opportunities. Get over the idea that Spanish is not an American language, hello? We’ve been hearing it for over 200 hundred years in this country. Just because one chooses to speak a certain language, doesn’t give them the right to tell others their language doesn’t count. It’s been tried in many European countries, i.e. Italy during the war years. God Bless one and ALL! No matter what you speak!

Came here looking for CD rates and got bombarded with a foreign language. I am AMERICAN and I read and write English. Wasn’t even given opportunity to Press 1 for English! This may sound racist (and I don’t care), but am tired of MY government giving in to people who want to live in this great country who don’t have the time to learn our language. Go to Greece or France or Germany and bombard these countries with Spanish and see what you get.

I work at Wachovia and since the buyout by Wells Fargo and the state of the economy you won’t see CD rates at what they were for a long time. As long as the Fed interest rate is low and mortgage rates are low as well the CD rates will follow suit (all banks have pretty much the same rates give or take a tenth of a percent). The basic concept of savings and loan.

My suggestion to people who are looking to beat out the ridiculous infaltion that is looming over us and will hit very soon is to put your money in REAL investments that do pay and are not FDIC. But you need to know there is a risk in that but these products that are available are very stable and will earn you much more than a CD ever will. Still, there are people with realistic fears that their banks could fail in this economy and that is why there are CDs.

You need to come to a compromise and take the low rates on CDs if you want 100% guaranteed or weigh the pros and cons and take an investment product such as bonds or other funds to compensate.

I hope this helps everyone out.

Of course not. The rate information was posted on August 11, 2008 – It’s more than a year old and well before before the sh** hit the fan. This website doesn’t keep current, This string is mostly mal-content bigots and racists whining about minorities not speaking English. The GOP has been defeated and it’s time for all the bigots and racists to step aside and watch the Democrats try to fix the financial disasters the GOPs created after eight years in power.
