I have been banking with Countrywide with NO problems. The accts. are easy to open. To date I’ve only done increments of 10,000 but I’m ready to go bigger as they have earned my trust.

A few months back, just about at the time when the subprime fiasco started I walked into a local Countrywide Branch with the intent to open a new CD; at that time @5.65%. The money was never transfered since we decided that a few fractional points in the interest rate are not worth the risk.

As of today, 11/5/07 Countrywide has dropped this rate to 5.35% — I was just one of their financial centers. It’s still a good rate though not as good as it was last week.
